so we went to da Mario Pizzeria last friday for dinner. situated opp. galleri hotel with a few f&b restaurants around also.

i tell you, i saw the food forum, some of them say the food also until damn nice all that lor. but also got good reviews which i clicked 'agree' to the review. HAHA!!!!

don't expect too chi-chi-ish concept over here.

we ordered our food and requested for iced water which we waited for a good whole 10mins which i don't know where the patience comes from UNTIL i requested from another waiter then only he brought it to us.

a bit grumpy alr. but nevertheless still in good mood.

after waiting for a good whole 15 mins, NOTHING CAME except this unappealing basket of bread with olive oil. despite being a tad hungry, we didn't even bother to finish it because it was damn zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.


finally after super long wait, lo and behold,

frito misto - deep fried calamaris and prawns - $24

YOUR TYPICAL DEEP FRIED SOTONGS AND PRAWNS LOR. the portion damn pathetic and cost like what, $24. the prawns was fresh la but so what???

fettuccine alla salsiccia italiana - which basically consists porcini mushroom, italian pork sausage in light cream tomato sauce - $18


fettuccine gorgonzola e parma ham - parham ham with gorgonzola cheese in light cream sauce - $20

and this is the chef speciality.

let's talk about the pastas which are really ridiculously shitty.

firstly, if they claimed its italian restaurant, meaning to say specialise in pastas as well right? the minimum criteria of cooking pasta should at least be al dente isn't it?

YET, the fettuccine don't even have the al dente chewy factor. it was like soft, soggy. what makes it an insult is that fettuccine looks like ban mian AND THEIR standard are just like ban mian's texture. no, ban mian's better. chewy and slighty hard.

the parma ham's cheese cream sauce is damn fucking jerlard which after a few mouths, damn sick with the lousy fettuccine. so, that is chef's speciality standard ah?

the tomato cream sauce one was tasteless also. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. when bad things come, they come in a bundle huh.

WASTED, I ALSO KNOW. but that kind of shitty quality, cannot even put into mouth lor. its very rare for me to waste food even though it taste sucky but seriously, this one. i really cannot find the appetite to eat.

one of the waiter kind of patronise and asked about the food which i merely said, i don't think it suits my taste. i think he didn't expect that kind of reviews so he didn't know how to answer. for what pick on him when he can't even do a thing.

the manager was around who didn't seems quite bothered to bother which i don't know where is the 'good service' people acclaimed.

we were discussing whether because we are not used to italian food but hey, PASTAS with cream sauce, parma hams, typical ingredients, how not used can it go?

modesto is also an italian restaurant, their food are good, doesn't taste tasteless or have shitty pastas, so its not because we're not used to italian cuisine k.

for that amount, i rather go modesto which is also around that price with BETTER food which ASSURES al dente pasta.

actually, even pasta mania's pasta is even better.
